New bed already showing sagging

We bought a new King Sized bed which has been in use for only three weeks and already it is showing signs of sagging (on my side not my wifes!!!!!). My wife asked, in the shop we bought it from, who said it is nornal as there is a certain amount of settlement in the first few weeks/month or so.
Does this sound like good advice or are we being fobbed off?
It is a Myers, half price in sale, and we paid £440 was nearly £900.

bed or mattress that saggs? if it is the mattress, turn it over and see if her side saggs too.
If it is the bed, is it a mesh base, or wood. The mesh normally stretches. often the wooden slats break.
Any metallic scraping or grinding noises, if so that is not goodGOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.0 -
Mattress only and it is is supposed to be a 'None Turn' one. It is a divan style with four draws under the bottom section.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.0

It sounds like the shop is fobbing you off with complete rubbish. Demand that they either replace it or give you a refund.
If you don't have any luck with the shop, then contact Myers:

Also name and shame the shop.0 -
Thanks Tim
I will contact Myers but leave the shop alone for now as usually they are excellent. On the day it was one part time member of staff who perhaps wasn't too bothered so the shop deserve another chance.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. If I were you I would speak to the manager at the shop before you speak to Myers then. Myers will probably just tell you to do this anyway. At least this way you could exchange it for one that isn't non turn (which was a mistake in the first place).0 -

I have been in today and found the manager of the department extremely helpful. He is calling us tomorrow with view to coming out to take a look.
Note your point about not turning but how bad would it be to turn a none turn mattress?A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. In latter part of career specialising in commercial - mostly business sales.0 -

Non turm mattresses are only designed to be used on one side, so the other side isn't suitable for sleeping on. The whole concept of non turn mattresses is a gimmick. Before they existed we were told to turn our mattresses on a regular basis (especially pocket sprung mattresses. Then in order to cut costs a manufacturer started to make one sided mattresses, and as a sales pitch to justify only putting quilting on one side they tell their customers that they don't need to turn their heavy mattress any more. The truth is that the manufacturer has saved money by only using quilting on one side, but done nothing to make the mattress last any longer when you don't turn it.
There are many gimmicks in the bed trade, and I have been slated by some people (obviously people in the trade) for uncovering them. But I'd rather sleep better at night because I have told people the truth.0 -
How heavy are you?0
