Washing machine playing up

I was wondering if anyone can help with a problem I am having whilst doing a wool wash. I have noticed that whenever I wash my clothes on a wool cycle they come out of the machine with a black/grey chalky residue on them. This problem doesn't happen when we do normal washes such as a 40 oC cotton or 90 oC wash. I have cleaned the seals etc, but dont understand why this only happens on the wool wash cycle. Can anyone help as I really dont want to have to buy a new machine just yet - my dishwasher is leaking so have to replace that one first!
Thanks for any help you an offer

Are you using a delicate/wool detergent? It may be that your ordinary detergent (especially if it is a powder) isn't dissolving properly. Make sure you don't use too much fabric conditioner either - try half a cup of white vinegar instead via the conditioner compartment.
Check that the filter is clear, take out and clean the detergent drawer, and run a 90 degree wash occasionally to clean the machine out (if you don't have anything else to go into it, use it for dishcloths/tea towels etc).0
