Music picture show

My little girl's daddy works away and I would like to put a slide show of pictures of her onto a disc with a music track in the background. It would have to be saved to disc to mail to him at sea.
I really don't know how to go about it, which programs to use etc.
Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

Nero does this easily by dragging in pictures and adding a music track but most burning software will do this for you.

What software do you have available for burning cd's ?

I don't seem to have nero on my laptop. I've got Vista as it came and haven't added anything.
Sorry I really don't know much about computers. I guess I'm not making it easy on myself.

I have windows movie maker it seems. Can I use that for it?
If so, how do I go about it?

It's even easier with Vista, try looking here and following the instructions, I'm sure you will be able to follow it no problem !
