Hi,
I am fairly new to UK and have to move from Southampton to Reading, we have one 3 seater sofa and two single seater sofas, a fridge freezer and a washing machine along with a few dining chairs and a tv trolley.
I am trying to contact some removal companies from gumtree, is there any other good sites where removal companies advertise? and Also, can anyone give me an estimate how much it will cost approx.?

That's only 50 miles. You could do it yourself by hiring a van for a day, £30 + cost of the diesel.
I'd also look for "one way drive hire" so you can pick it up in Southampton and leave it in Reading, saves the 100 miles round trip to take it back.0 -
You might be able to do it yourself, with a bit of help - else this would need two men and a smallish van, say £200 - 400. Bear in mind that the removals industry is in the doldrums at the moment, so you might negotiate towards the bottom end of that band.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

With such a small amount of stuff you could do it yourself with a self drive. Or you could check the local paper - they usually have ads for 'man with a van' for hire by the day. Usually flat rate plus fuel. My husband used one last year to transport a bike to a repair shop and got drove home again for about £150.0

Crap that, you don't need a van, you could get it all in/on a big family car.
You must have a friend with a descent sized car who you can buy somwe beers for?Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0
