Ordered some tights from ebay for my daughter but they never arrived, emailed seller but no reply so put a complaint in through Paypal. AFTER email to Paypal I got this email from seller (Sat 22nd Oct)
"Hi,
I did reply to your previous email, maybe you didnt get it. I'm out of the country till 16th Nov on a family emergency. Your tights were posted on the 29th Sept. You were offered recorded postage as I cant be held responsible for Royal mail but you declined it. Despite that I am willing to refund your money and am tranferring funds to my paypal account for the refund as I have a zero balance at the moment. This may take upto 7 days. I hope you're happy with the added stress you've caused me in this difficult time.
Regards, "
Been away this week, come back today to find this email from Paypal (Weds 26th Oct),
"We have concluded our investigation of your Buyer Complaint. The details of
this claim are listed below.
We have decided in your favour, and as a result, have attempted to recover
funds from the seller.
The maximum amount we were able to recover was 3.49 GBP. This amount has
been credited to your PayPal account. Please allow up to five working days
for this adjustment to be reflected in your PayPal account.
If you are due any additional amount from the seller, we will make our best
effort to recover the balance from the seller.
If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
privileges."
NOW had an email from seller saying I haven't paid for these  This is what it says (Thurs 27th Oct)
"Your payment for this item hasn't been received yet. If you haven't sent payment, please follow the instructions below.
Item title: 2 x Brand New Girls Black Glitter Tights ~ 6 - 7 years

It's possible that the seller has just made a mistake here. I think I would e-mail the seller and let them know your situation first of all.
In theory, they could start the NPB process after a paypal chargeback - it's a bit of an annoying loophole in the system. Hopefully, if that happened you would be able to convince ebay that you had paid, but had the payment refunded.
If you can't get this resolved quickly, I think I would report it to ebay - I think Report Problems with other ebay members -> Problems with sellers -> You paid but didn't receive the item is probably the most appropriate option. You will then be able to refer to the original payment you made and explain in the message that it was refunded by paypal after you complained that you didn't receive the item, but now the seller is demanding payment again.0 -
apparently this is what happens when you start chargeback proceedings the listing reverts back to item still to be paid, it happened to me or maybe just in my case. I just clicked the dropdown list and marked it as paid. Or do what the above ebayer states............0

It sounds to me like they have set up an automated "out of office" type reply to an incoming e-mails.0 -
I know about the automated responces but how can they send me a seperate email with a payment reminder on if they are away?2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0

It looks like the seller is using Ebay's "Selling Manager Pro".
Because Ebay is linked with Paypal it will have made the items payment status as unpaid (as stated by angelnas above).
Seller Manager Pro would then have sent an automated payment not received email.0
