    Well i'm now going through the financial ombudsman as they're still refusing to accept liability for accessing my account as and when they want to saying it's my responsibility to make sure i have money in my account for direct debits (i do - when i know they're going to be taken out!)

  • check your local papers, when they pull up check if van has any details at least home landline, or even a home base address gives a good indication if they are confident about the service they are offering you and when finished does invoice have a home address these sort of guys usally have nothing to hide though may have large walls when you get there! though remember we all have bad days !!!!!!
  • I phoned reactfast 14:00 on a Saturday and received postponing calls @ 15:00 & 17:00. I eventually phoned back asking for a plumber 09:00 on Sunday. At 09:30 on Sunday I was postponed to 11:00; at 11:00 I was postponed to 12:30. At that stage I cancelled my callout.

    I wish I had read this forum before calling reactfast, then I would have known what to expect. (It may be that my eventual plumber would have been ok - but I never got that far.)

    I had my toilet flush handle fixed in Sep 2007, paying a total of about £90 plus .

    This week, the flush handle broke - no longer turning. I did suspect that the handle they fitted looked too big, comapred with the original.

    I think this is really bad, as it shouldnt have broken down within months, especially as a new part had been fitted by a supposedly 'reliable' companyReact fast Birmingham.:eek:
    I rang yesterday and after several calls, was told that an engineer would come in 90 minutes and repair free of charge, as a goodwill gesture. Nobody showed up, when I rang they said engineer would come today at 9. Today I got a call saying there would be charge and I said no way. I have contacted the consumer advice http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ and told to download and use a complaint letter template, which I have done today.
    I also emailed the react fast website and their complaints number - not at all helpful, and kept refering to the small print.

    I really think it is unreasonable that a company like this does such a bad job and then refuses to sort it out!

    Any suggestions or help please! It is a lot of money - to get the flush handle fixed yet again and it is unpleasant to have a toilet in this state!

    i doubt you will have any luck, most of them companies only offer a 6 month guarantee, and it will say this on the invoice you signed (and it will be in tiny letters!)

    i sub-contract off a couple of similar companies (not with the problems that react fast have!)

    i did get sent out the react fast contract though but never joined with them as they have a bit of a reputation

    best of luck though

    Thanks for your reply - I am not going to bother with them and certainly not going to recommend this company. Very disappointed by their attitude. Have managed to get someone recommended by a friend.
