Placed hot pan on wooden kitchen counter - Please help!

Hi,
I placed a hot pan on the kitchen counter top for a minute...by mistake..
Now, there are three small burnt spots on the wooden kitchen counter top.
The wooden layer on the spots have not come out as yet..but they look burnt...and will come off over a period of time.
Its a rented flat..and the kitchen unit is fairly new. I am really worried if the landlord will charge me a huge amount when I vacate.
Please can someone advise me if there is any way of rectifying this?

not to sure what sort of work top you have weather it is laminate or solid wood but dont leave it to the agents of the house to sort out as it will cost you a lot more. best thing to do is call in a few local trades men to give you there knoledge and if needed a quote to replace the damaged peice, if kitchen is not that old you should be ok in getting the same work top, if you leave it to late you might have to replace the whole thing. hope this helps0
