Hi, I am just starting out in self employment. Can anyone tell me if i need extra insurance if i use my own vehicle to carry merchandise to and from my unit and to customers houses, also will it be legal to take my 5 year old son along on these journeys with me?
Thanks Peter

You must advise your insurance comapny of your new occupation, that you are self employed & what you will be using the vehicle for. They will then issue correct policy change for you.0

And it will involve an extra cost to cover business use, particularly if you are only covered for S,D & P.
Providing it's a normal passenger carrying car with proper child restraints I can't think of any reason why you can't carry your son when travelling on business.
Starting him young in the family business, eh?
