SquatNow. Just don`t go jumping to the conclusion that us `` boomers `` all had it all easy. Also do not assume that we are anymore happy about this social disgrace.

I was never saying that all... just that most sat back and enjoyed the benefits without considering the consequences.

Ironically it's not the high house prices that will force your children into a life of slavery, it's the multi-trillion £ outstanding unfunded index-linked pension liabilites... £1trillion for the civil service alone. Add in the lack of social housing, private ownership of all the essential utilities etc etc.

And remember... your children pay National Insurance but get nothing for it... effectively, income tax rose 20% a couple of years back to pay for part of the outstanding civil sevice pensions from the baby boomers.

I honestly wish we had never had all this house inflation. I predicted that it would never happen again after the crash in the 90`s. How wrong was I?

Very... sadly, and it will happen again and again every 18 years, and a small number of people will become much richer and society will become poorer.
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.

Well done Scousebird. You deserve every ounce of the happiness you now have and I think it is commendable that you don't forget the struggles you had and want to help others. Well done you.

When I was 15 I left home, mother died suddenly when I was 13, father not on the scene, evil stepfatheretc. I couldn't get anyone to help me. I couldn't get any benefits, was turned down for a crisis loan, basically because I didn't fit into any benefit scheme/criteria at the time. The only other option was a care home which I refused. It was a long hard struggle and I've cut a very long story short but I went through my education and have ended up a happy adult with my own house and career. I now own buy to lets and yet I read stories about buy to letters being greedy etc etc. I worked very hard to end up where I am now. No-one handed it to me on a plate. I got off my backside and wouldn't allow anyone to put me down and tell me I couldn't do anything I wanted to do. You deserve a lot of credit for your achievements in life as so many people in yours and my situation would have given up and taken the route of crime.

I think there is a desperate need of help for children/teenagers who want to escape the lives that have been enforced on them and they need to be put on the right path early otherwise they are likely to end up a statastic i.e involved in drugs, crime and prostitution which surely ends up costing the government more in benefits etc.

    Wishing you all the best
