PSP broken :(

I bought a PSP off a friend a couple of years ago, and now its starting to wear out. There is an 'internal error' when I try to connect to the internet, and all games i try to play, a message comes up, 'disc can't be read'.
Anyone got any ideas?

Also, do you think Sony would be kind enough to replace it without proof of purchase etc? I don't even think the receipt is still going though :(
Thanks

If you open the disc drawer, you can see the laser. Get a dry cotton bud, rest the end on the laser and gently rotate a few times. It clears all the muck and grime off them.

As for the internal error, maybe try a reset. Doubt you'll get any joy off sony after 2 years.
