Hi folks, hope you can help.
Trying to connect my wii up to the internet.
I have a wired modem, a nintendo wifi usb connector plugged into a usb port and I'm on windows vista.
I have managed to get up to the stage of the connector set up complete, and I've been able to grant permission for the wii to connect using the wii registration tool on the pc.
But when doing the connection test on the wii it comes up with error code 52140.
I've been searching all over the net for a solution.
All I seem to find is alot of confusion for me(not completely computer literate) and all about changing the wireless channels on the router.
But I don't have a router, all I have is a wired modem to my pc and the dongle in a usb port.
I found one solution here
and I've managed to find my two different ip addresses following up to step 2.
but i'm confused by step 3, where do I find my network connection?
This is probable something really easy, but I'm all confuddled.
Can anyone help.
Thanks in advance.

I had a bit of trouble with the dongle aswell.
I ended up reinstalling it a couple of times, but i had to turn off all my antivirus and firewall programs, bar windows firewall. I also found turning off spybot which i had running helped.. Risky i know but i took a chance.
I have left my wii on and the dongle attached to my pc ever since and it seems to still be connected even with the antivirus and firewall back on.
It can be quite frustrating but u will get there in the end, just be very carefull.
I am running Xp but i think the same applies to vista, GD luck0
