C:/drive is now J:/drive (help)

I Have just reloaded all my stuff from scratch on my Home PC
Its all good apart from the Local Drive (C) is now Local (J)
How can I get it back to being the C drive?
(I hope ive explained all this)

format it and start again.
Won't work. Installation routine detects the existing primary partitions, assigns them drive letters first then assigns one to the new one you're installing to as its created as a logical partition within an extended partition, not as a primary one. Only way to do it without some serious fannying around is delete all the partitions.
Also leaving USB devices such as memory sticks, external drives, cameras can alter the drive letter assigned as well during installation.
Anyway, just leave it as J: There's nothing written anywhere which says it has to be C:, it merely became that through convention rather than any technical reason to be.0 -
