Reccomendations for leasing a car..

Ok due to my other post we will at some point go down the leasing route, prob sooner than later but just wanted to see what others thought of theirs..

we are after a focus ST or an astra sport or VXR, was wondering which companys are good and which aren't and why..

Is there anything i should look out for?

Is it better to purchase it after we have leased it at which i am in the understanding that they charge you the outstanding value of the car upfront? does this depend on current value or new?

What is P/X like on them (i have a punto 01)is it worth bothering or will they take the mickey!

Thanks for any replies, i have filled out a couple of forms but have to wait for them to ring me, as tere are none near me i don't think i cannot pop and see them that easily!

Thanks again.

Hmm well looking back at some i have saved i am feeling a bit deflated..they seem to have gone up quite a bit and the deposits are pretty high..anyone know any good deals? i'm thinking now taking out another loan and buying one would be cheaper tbh!

Have you looked to see what prices you can find on What Car?
Look up the details of the cars you interested in and then select the "Lease this car" link and you should find plenty of deals on Vauxhalls and Fords which are better value than buying brand new.
If you buying look for a pre-registered or something 3-6+ months old or if you really must have brand new spend the same money on what ever VW Golf you can afford as this one holds it's value quite well.
Focos ST and Astra VXR = nightmare depreciation which makes them very expensive for what they are as a brand new buy.

Always my first port of call and sign up for email notification on the models you are interested in.

Most ofthe companies I have dealt with have been fine but be wary of extended delivery dates these can seem to keep getting extended.

I have used V1 (vey good) and Purple Contracts (good)

Up to you what Car you lease/buy of course but those two you mention
will cost a massive amount more to run than a 01 punto

    There both Insurance group 17
    They do 30mpg
    12 months Road tax will be £210 2008, £300 2009, £310 2010

compared to a Focus 1.6TDCI Econetic
    Insurance group 7
    65mpg
    12 months Road tax will be £35 2008, £30 2009, Free 2010

hi thanks guys..Oliver i realise they will cost more that doesn't bother me, the tax is also included in all the deals i have looked at so doesn't matter either..
Looking at what i can afford monthly there is no way i would ever buy one as the depreciation as you said is awful plus the outgoings such as tax etc are stupid imo. I really don't know what to do at mo just wanted some good reccomendations on companys!
