Nat West foundation account all the way, it allows the company to prove itself and generate a trading history

Agree with others about the Nat West Foundation account - it is intended for new companies. When I got mine, a year ago, you couldn't apply online, but you applied online for a normal business account, and then they arranged a meeting with a business account specialist who then set the account up. Once you've been trading for a while, they credit score based on the business account, not your personal account.

I have always found Nat West to be really helpful and the online banking is good too.

Hi, I have just set up a limited company and am having trouble opening a business bank account for it. Can anyone advise what the best bank accounts are a tthe moment for people who dont have great credit score and need a business account? I know further up this thread a lot of people recommended Nat West, but those comments are a few years old.
    many thanks

Continuing this topic: I have same problem, with 3 directors in LTD CO I am the one who is causing problem opening business bank account, already declined in Santander and Lloyds, called NATWEST and was told that not everyone can qualify to Foundation Current Account as credit check will still to be done and only then decision will be taken weather we can get it. but further declines will only make our situation worst. Thinking of changing directors board down to two, getting account sorted and later adding myself back ... any current suggestion, maybe .. thanks
  • Hi,

I like so many have had poor credit history (in an IVA to be exact). After wasting time with the High Streets banks, hours on the phone only for the credit check to come back negative, I came across Cashplus.

The business bank account was opened in 5 mins, online. The only thing they don't do is paying in of cheques, but in this day & age who uses cheques?!

    If you google
Cashplus Business Bank Account - Everything is explained on their webpage

I have been using Cashplus Business Bank Account just over 12months, I feel it is a very good alternative for like minded business start ups with an adverse credit rating. :T
