Whenever I click on a download link in firefox, it will pop up with a dialog asking me what I want to do with the file (save or open), show the name of the FTP area in the bottom left, but go no further, certainly not open the windows explorer dialog. What can I do? The problem does not exist in internet explorer.
Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.

Unless you've set the option in Firefox preferences to ask where you want it downloaded to, it'll just download the file to the default directory which is the desktop in Windows 98,ME,2000,XP and the "Downloads" folder in the users account in Vista.0
