what kind of business? Do you employ people? Turnover? USA exports?
A decent broker such as Towergate, Oval, Willis or similar is really your best bet. commercial insurance isn't really an off the shelf product unless you are talking about a small shop or office.0 -
I have business that sends and imports parcels within the UK. Have only one employee we basically work more as brokers buying and selling DHL's services.0

How do you send? Is it by post or courier/haulage?
You can get Good in Transit Insurance from:
www.milestonehouse.com
at really competitive prices!! They do Liability and vehicle insurance too!
Not a call centre, they listen and give advise!!
Willis etc are for large companies!! They insure the likes of Asda and Weetabix!!ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0 -
You have two basic options
- buy direct from an Insurer, such as Direct Line - you do the leg work, make the phone calls etc, they will sell you what they have to offer - and you have to take the reponsibility if it is not what you need
- go to an Insurance Broker - they do the leg work, make the phone calls, are legally responsible for the advice they give, and will search the market for what is most appropriate both in terms of cover and cost.
Link to the main Insurance Brokers Association (and from which you can search for a suitable Broker) here:

What ever you decide - I recommend shopping around. If many little people, in many little places, do many little things,
they can change the face of the world.

Hi ludwip - there are good brokers and let's say not so good ones, and often it is the individual you are dealing with that makes the difference I am not able to comment on which category A Plan may justify.
Some Brokers have negotiated special deals for different trades/businesses, some have a better working knowledge of some businesses and that can mean the inclusion of cover that other Brokers may not even know exists, all of these factors, lol - and others can make a big difference - those and other reasons are why I said shop around - I know its hassle, but I don't have any other better advice to give you, sorry.
Perhaps the only other way is if you are in a Trade Association (?) - often they have contact with Brokers for your trade - were it me that would be my starter for 10, but I'd still shop around. If many little people, in many little places, do many little things,
they can change the face of the world.
