Cruise holidays

My boyfriend has booked us on a cruise holiday but I am a bit nervous because some people have told me it is very cramped, boring and full of old people. The brochure says they attract a full range of age groups, I am 23 and my boyfriend is 38. I am really looking forward to the glamour nights because I love getting dressed up but is there much to do during the day. I do not want to sound negative to my boyfriend so any help would be fantastic.
Why do I always find men so hard?

PS: depending on your itinerary and unless its Transatlantic I would hope that most days you are off exploring the latest port of call x

You haven't said which ship you are booked on, but your reference to "full of old people" is highly offensive. My wife and I cruise about four times a year. We are in our early sixties, and by no stretch of the imagination would we consider ourselves "old". Maybe your best bet would be Ocean Village because they do "cruises for peole who don't do cruises"

There were plenty of young people on the cruise we were on last month and none of them looked bored, in fact they and everyone else were having a great time.

It was our first cruise and the first holiday in a long time where we were disappointed to have to come home.

I think you will be surprised at how much you will enjoy it

Go and Enjoy in your way.
    Do not be disappointed...

    Hi,

we cruised for the first time last year.

We're in our early 40s, and like to think ourselves with a fairly young outlook.

We were on Celebrity, round the Med.

To be fair, I would say about 70% of the other passengers were 60+, but most of them seemed pretty sprightly.

If you are on a cruise with a lot of shore excursions it will make no difference at all.

The cabin was on the small side for a hotel room, but by no means cramped.
And by the time you'd had breakfast, gone sightseeing for the day, had dinner, watched a show, and done a bit of shopping, then we didnt spend that much time in the cabin.

    Have a great time!

    Cheers,
    Karen

Thank you everybody for your replies and the link. The brochure I have is Royal Caribbean and the ships look brill but I do not know were we are going yet (big secret).

Hansi, I am really sorry, I did not mean to offend. I was just relating comments that others have said to me.

The ages of passengers does vary depending on the time of year. We have always gone with Cunard and usually the passengers are more "mature" (OK Hansi ?). However, have just been on QM2 during the school hols, lots of kids and babes in arms.
