How can I report duplicate postings

edda

I'm finding that more duplicate postings are appearing on the site - sometimes due to the fact that they are in different sub-sections.
This is very frustrating when you want to follow a thread but end up having to subscribe to several threads to follow one topic.
Latest examples - Sainsburys £60 spam and Boots triple points for £15+ spend.
We have a simple way to report abuse - is there a similar method for reporting duplicates? If not, can I suggest that you consider giving us one?
Thanks

If you see a duplicate post you could pm the relevant boardguide to point it out. It's bound to happen as people will post before checking and no-one reads all the posts anyway. You can also contact the Forum Team through the abuse@moneysavingexpert.com address.Torgwen..........

PM the board guide for the board concerned and they will merge the threads or move to the appropriate board for merging.0

One suggestion I firmly believe in is removing the post count from underneath the username.
I don't quite understand how, but some people live and die by it and I think this might be the reason for some duplicates.
You only have to go into the Arms to see the pointless threads when someone miraculously gets to 1000 or 2000 posts etc.
Another thing that needs sorting is 'Anything Else Money Saving'. Sometimes I lose count as to just how many get moved. All I ever see on that board is this symbol:

I'm going to start a count on how many threads are started about changing gas/electricity supplier. Some more duplicates there I think. Numerous people saying shall I go with x company or y company.
Anyway, the post count must go!!!0 -
the best thing to do is to send a PM to the board guide of the board and ask them to remove or merge the duplicate as this rules post describes0

Having just thought about it a bit more, are you referring to one poster putting duplicate posts on multiple boards or threads about the same thing on multiple boards?
If it's the former, then asking the board guides to merge or delete is the best thing. If it's the latter then I don't know that there is an answer because you will always get people who post something in what they think is the right board, then someone else will come along and, feeling it should be in a different board or more widely spread, will post it again somewhere else or simply post in another board with a link to the original. I don't think there is anything to deal with that situation.0 -

Not quite sure what you mean by "needs sorting", it is "sorted" on a regular basis and hence the number of threads that are moved to a suitable board.
Problem is very few people read the post by Glad regarding what should be posted on Anything Else Moneysaving
Anything Else-Pure Money-please read before posting Although this board is titled 'Anything Else', as part of the Pure Money section of the site it is for the posting of threads that are purely about money but don't quite fit into any of the other boards in the Pure Money section,
please check out the headings of all boards to find the most suitable place for a thread, if your thread has no money basis at all but you still want to post it on this site then please post in Discussion Time.

The post count was absolutely essential recently when we had a lot of 'clones' about the place. Since you can register very similar usernames and the same avatars, post count - and therefore number of stars - was a quick way to tell who was real0
