WIN a Fantastic £5000 Virgin holiday and a Samsung GX-20!

Samsung Cameras is launching its See Your World photography competition in association with IPC Media and is offering WDC readers, alongside over 30 other IPC titles and their readers, the chance to not only win some great Samsung photographic equipment but also a £5000 holiday. This is a great opportunity to show your photography skills and have your work displayed at an exclusive exhibition in London.
The top three entries will be chosen by the panel at WDC and the winner will automatically win a Samsung GX-20 with the SEF-36PZF flashgun, worth over £1100! THE SAMSUNG GX-20
The sleek design, resolution, noise control, and intelligent button layout of the Samsung GX-20 makes this beauty a real contender in the semi-pro/prosumer market. Big strides have been made from its predecessor, the GX-10, and these, along with a fully weatherproofed body, means the GX-20 would be at home with the enthusiast photographer in the field or studio. Samsung has improved the sensor so much so that it now reaches the kind of pixel count that enthusiasts demand for large-scale reproductions, and, with its ease of use, the inclusion of an auto-capture mode, and extensive in-camera image editing, the GX-20 becomes a cracking bit of value for a broad range of photographic users. The GX-20 has 14.6 mega-pixels and is also equipped with Optical Picture Stabilisation (OPS) technology and a first for Samsung – its CMOS sensor – which ensures crystal clear images.
The second place entry up will receive Samsung’s innovative NV24HD model, which allows you to watch your movies in high definition and is worth £250, and the third placed finalist will receive the stylish NV40 worth £200.
However, it doesn’t end there. The three finalists from each publication will then be invited to London to see their photographs displayed in an exclusive exhibition, which will be open to the public and run for two weeks. The three finalists from each publication will then proceed to the grand final with one lucky photographer winning a £5000 Virgin holiday voucher. The overall winner plus four runners up will be selected by an expert panel of judges made up of independent professional photographers and the editors from What Digital Camera magazine and Amateur Photographer magazine.
All you need to do to have a chance of winning is submit one photograph (there is a limit of one image entry per category) via email to wdc@ipcmedia.com at a maximum of 600 pixels in its largest dimension, including with it your name and address, the camera used, and where it was taken - by 30th October, 2008. Photographs must be submitted in one of the following four categories, and the overall winner and four runners up will be announced at a special awards ceremony in January, 2009. The categories are detailed on the below.
See Your People World The human race is such an eclectic mix of souls that it’s impossible not to capture something that little bit unique in this category.
See Your Moving WorldThe art of movement can be interpreted in many ways, all you need do is look outside and you will see it all around. Submissions for this category can range from anything from a bike race to a baby crawling across the floor - you decide.
See Your Natural WorldA brief sojourn into your back garden may be all that you need to capture a shot for this category. Insects to landscapes qualify, and everything else in between - you choose.
See Your Future WorldAlthough we can’t see into the future, the way it can be interpreted has no limits. It’s the perfect category to really get the mind thinking and let the creative juices flow.
So what are you waiting for? Get out, and get photographing!
