    Dear wiseinvestor

thanks for your timely reminder regaring the reduced seat pitch on AA planes.

I have gone from looking forward to my AA flight to Kentucky to dreading it now that they have reduced the seat pitch. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the small sunsection on the Boing Boing 767 has been untouched, but i'm not to hopeful.

In the past flying with AA has been nice due to the extra legroom and it has more than made up for the hatchet faced harridans that AA employ as flight stewards.

p.s i'm 6ft 3in tall and every inch of legroom counts

Isn't the English language beautiful :D

Thanks MTC - gave me a smile
  • Hi Miffy Roo

I have just had the good fortune of flying AA from Manchester to Chicago & back and I may have some good news for you.

I travelled in the 'front' economy section of the plane (Boeing 767, AA refer to it as a 763) and the leg room was excellant. If you are able to ask for a seat in rows 10-13.

In my opinion as a longelegged bloke (i'm 6ft 3in) the leg room in this section was the same as before "more legroom in coach" was removed by AA - I may be wrong on this but it was VERY spacious indeed and positively cavernous compared to BA. On our return trip the guy in front reclined his seat very early and I still had plenty of room. Seatguru.com says that the seat pitch has been reduced on this plane - from my experience of this flight, there is no evidence of it.

p.s. the only downer of flying with AA is the appaling level of service and poor attitude of the flight stewards. After experiencing the full effect of American hospitality on our holiday - I just can't understand the AA flight stewards attitude of "couldn't care less", it's not as if they are overworked on a nightflight for goodness sake. For most of the overnight flight 4 of them took advantage of the "crew rest" seats and slept most of the way across !
