Dog Friendly Beaches in Wales

Promised to take the kids to the beach tomorrow, but we have a 6 month old pup aswell and dont want to leave him at home. Can anyone recommend any dog friendly beaches, we are travelling up from the Midlands. Thanks

    Parts of the beach at Barmouth allow dogs.

    Glad you enjoyed it. I'm an ex-Brummie who's lived there for 14 years and the scenery never fails to lift the spirit! Did you see the view up the estuary from Barmouth bridge? Supposed to be the most picturesque estuary in Europe I believe - no doubt someone will come along and say theirs is :rotfl:

    I knoq this is late, but another time you might like to try Pembrey Country Park near Burry Port.
    6 miles of beach, acres and acres of forest and parkland.
    All dog friendly.
    My favourite place.

    just a quick bump up - im plannign on going over to tenby tomorrow with my 2 boys, bf and our pooch - anyone know of a dog friendly beach there?? we are going to be there until about mid afternnon/early evening

    also ive found a few doggy friendly restaurants/pubs etc so food is covered btu does anyone know of any doggy friendly places i can go if the weather turns bad - ive got silent world (aquarium) so far that he will be allowed but looking for a few other ideas too

    EDITED TO SAY
    I answered my own question adn emailed tenby visitor centre and got a reply within 10 minutes - in summer he would only be allowed on south beach but at this time of year there is no rstrictions

    I live on the N.Wales coast and most of the beaches here are dog friendly. My nearest beach runs from Point of Ayre RSPB reserve to Prestatyn - all the locals take their dogs. Lovely beach but not much around in the way of things to do (if you wanted cafes/restaurants etc).
