Moved from the South to the Midlands and decided to take the kids to the beach, we now have our 6 month old pup too. I believe Wales in probably the nearest for us. So can anyone recommend any dog friendly beaches and can someone tell me what restrictions there are. This is all new to us, and dont want to go upsetting the locals!! Thanks

Never taken the dogs to Wales but Cornwall CC publish guides to dog friendly and dog banned beaches which you can also find on their and the various district councils websites.
Wales is quite a big area so search for the local authority for the area you want to visit. This is Anglesey's WEBSITE and this is a MAP of one of their beaches showing dogs are only banned from a part of the beach and allowed the rest.
If you narrow down where in Wales you'd like to visit you might get a response from someone who knows the area.0 -
not sure where you nearest beach will be but if you are planning on going to south wales then look here:

also, if you go to this website and click on the beach name it will give you details if dogs are permitted when you click on the 'dogs and litter' section

Unfortunately I've found South Wales to be not very dog friendly at all.
Most of the beaches I've been to there ban dogs May to September.
West Wales, Pembrokeshire is a lot more friendly.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Just a little further a field but definitely a dog friendly beach is brean down, right by the hill with the fort.
DS and me took perry last Saturday there, you can park your car on the beach too, and lots of families there, dogs running in and out of the sea
Only saw one landmine that one irresponsible owner didn't clear up.
It was the first time we took our pup to the seaside and he loved it, would take him more now we have the travel sickness under some sort of control.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0
