i just went to my local and got the family a treat of fish and chips the kids had battered sausages.
Well my husband had the cod and chips i got rock and chips and the kids had the sausages but the batter my rock was in was terrible it was so salty that after 2 mouthfuls i decided to scrap it all off as i could not stomach it and then tried to eat some of the fish but after eating just over 1/2 the fish i now feel so sick form how salty it has made the fish too i have not been able to finish my dinner.
i paid £3.40 for my fish i think i should ask for a refund.
should i go back to the shop and complain?

I would mention it to the shop to see what they have to say, it could be that they have had other complaints and that the batch of batter was faulty.0

ring them up, they prob say you get a free one next time.
start it with..
'hi, i just bought some food from your shop, the fish i had was bad..it was....'
and the person on other end will do the rest.0 -
did you see the staff cook/wrap your food? was any salt etc added at the time? my local always asks first.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
What is 'rock'?
Is that locla dialect for something?I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0 -
"Rock Salmon", a more palatable (literally) name for Dogfish, a small shark0

Lol complaining about a £3 meal.0

It should still be edible no matter what the price is.0

You sure it was salty tasting ? :eek:The dogfish lacks a urinary tract.
Urine in dogfish collects in the bloodstream and is then secreted through the skin. Because of this captured dogfish must be bled quickly and dressed otherwise the uric acid in the blood will contaminate the meat.
After they've been out of the water for a while they stink of pis.... OOPS , I mean ammonia ,maybe yours had been soaked in salt water to rid it of the smell?.0 -
