With the markets apparently looking a little crap, isn't any fund that links to them a little risky at the moment...
That assumes everything investment based is one risk level and that certainly isnt the case.
Also, who is to say that the risk is any different to any other time?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Surely after a downturn is a better time to invest than since the previous occasion when the market was this value? With the markets apparently looking a little crap, isn't any fund that links to them a little risky at the moment...
Would it not be wise to just stick it in a decent interest savings account???
In this case, the UK market is at its lowest in about 3 years, making it the best time to invest in the UK markets since 3 years ago!I am a Chartered Financial Planner

Its not about where the market is in terms of cost, its whether it is rising or falling. If a market dropped 10% in a year, and you said its better to invest now then last year it doesnt mean the market wont drop another 10% for the next year. It all about choosing the most resilient funds at the moment, for example those with high levels of commodities such as gold to ride out the economic uncertainties. You need to start investing heavily in equities once the market reaches its trough.Living the good life spending all my money but loving it!!0
