Adding a second hard drive?

Sorry for an ignorant question...I have a 3 year old desk top with 80g hard drive which is getting full, i have a 250g external for backing up it and others.

am i right in thinking that i can add a second hard drive inside the desktop to create more storage, whilst all the programs still run from the existing c-drive?

is it an esy job that gets recognised when plugged in and there seem to be several types of hard drive styles - how do i find which one is compatible?

cheers in advance

Yes, it's very easy to do and all you have to do is simply plug it in and away you go.

There's some decent pictures of cables here that will help you identify whether you have a Sata or Ide connection.

Make sure you set the jumpers to the right settings :)
