Hi All
I just bought my first car today! YAY! :j And it is a Ford KA. It has a head unit that is compatible with a boot changer cd thingy, the problem i have is that i know nothing and i mean nothing about anything to do with this. All i know is that i would like a cd player in my car. I dont know what model i need to be looking at etc- any help would be greatly appreciated!

You'll need to find out if the car's wiring incorporates CDchanger cabling to the boot, as it can be a bit of a pain to install if not.
IIRC, Ford "badge" their car audio equipment so that it's not easy to tell who it's made by (and therefore buy a compatible CD changer without paying a Ford dealer's no doubt ridiculous price for a Ford badged one).
Probably your best bet is to Google for Ka owners clubs like this one:
http://www.kaklub.co.uk/
as there will be loads of people there with inside knowledge.
Incidentally, you may find it's actually cheaper to ditch the head unit and buy one with a CD instead - for example I just bought a Sony CD head unit with a front Ipod input and bluetooth mobile phone handsfree for less than £90 delivered!0 -
Have a search in the boot area as other owners may have installed one. If the cables are pre-installed then a trip to a car breaker is in order to locate a unit. Also as mentioned try on line ka forums, (you might need them later any way for helpful advice, etc) as people upgrade and you get yours cheap, try car boot sales as well. They are just bolt on goodies.0
