Transferring Credit to the USA from the UK

Options
I may be moving to the USA for a while with work.
The problem is that I have no credit history in the US.

That means that buying cars, renting property is going to be a pain in the neck.

Wells Fargo will let us open a bank account, but it will be based on what we can deposit, no credit will be available.

I tried my own bank RBS who are connected with the Citizen's bank in the USA, but there was nothing they could do, there was no transparency.

e.g. can you just change your credit card address from the UK to a new US address? The mere hint of this may spook the credit card company, so I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas here before approaching them.

Any ideas gratefully received.

You will need a local Bank in the state where you will work because interstate banking does not function.

Your US employer's HR department can almost certainly recommend you to a local bank which should speed the process.
