Center Parcs in Holland/Belgium Help Needed!

I'm looking to go to a Center Parcs in Holland or Belgium next summer after going numerous times in this country. I was wondering whether anyone can recommend a particular park in Holland or Belgium. We have a toddler who will be approaching three when we travel next year so are looking for a site with lots for him to do. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi,
don't know about Center Parcs, but I can highly recommend Duinrell in Holland.
It's a theme park/water park on a campsite (we went with Keycamp) and is fantastic.
You get unlimited use of the park, and 2 hours fee into the water park every day.
The theme park caters foe all ages and the whole camp is in a beautiful setting.

We visited both Centre Parcs Erpeheide in Belgium and Duinrell mentioned above in May/June with our 2 and 4 year old boys.
Both were fab and would recommend either but preferred Erpeheide. If you like swimming the pool is great with some shallow bits for little ones to paddle, there's a big indoor playbarn which is free and some good outdoor play areas plus a farm.
Would def return to both but felt Duinrell would be better whilst kids are quite young and in fact are planning on booking Erpeheide next year.
The theme park at Duinrell is very good and there were quite a few rides kids could go on and a fantastic playground that stayed open in the evening. Just felt a lot busier, noisier and less relaxed than Erpeheide and found the 2 hour limit on free swimming a bit of a pain as it takes a while to get changed with little ones. Also the pool was pretty busy and lots of big kids splashing.
Hope that helps.0 -
Thanks for both replys. Erpeheide is one of the parcs we've been looking at quite closely as it seems to cater well for toddlers compared to some other centre parcs. Good to see postive feedback. Duinrell may also be another option we knew nothing about so thanks for that.
Anyone else offer any advice??0 -
We used to go to centerparcs each February half term - never been in the country as it is too expensive - but went to Dutch and Belgian ones - however, as the kids have almost grown up haven't been for about 8 years. For what it's worth - we've visited De Eemhoff, which is close to Amsterdam and was the first centerparc site - was destroyed by a fire several years ago and rebuilt. Our kids used to love it there. We've also visited de vossenmerren which has a pirate ship and that was great fun. A toddler would love that one. De Kempervennen (I think) has a ski slope attached to it which is hideously expensive - and would be no fun for a toddler. They all blend into one to be honest - although I do recall the pirate ship.
The virtual tour on the site is useful - the parks which have 'park' (park loohoorst etc) in the titles are new(ish) to the centerparc group - they were bought a few years ago and think that they aren't as nice as the original centerparcs.Bern :j0 -
We went to De Eemhof last year and had a fabulous time with our 3 & 4 year olds. We flew to Amsterdam from Liverpool and got the train there, which worked out amazingly easy, and cheaper for us than sailing with the car would have done.
The pool and things are fantastic - what we really liked was that there is a lots of slides and a big outdoor flume which the kids loved. I have a feeling if that had been in the UK someone would have told us the boys were below the height for it - but it was their favourite thing the whole week.
Another big hit was the farm. There was a big fun factory, with entertainment on, but as it was in Dutch we didn't bother. There were a few small climbing frame/playgrounds around, but not much to write home about.
The shop & eating places were fine, my only gripe would be that there wasn't much in the kitchen on arrival. CP at Whinfell seem to give you a bit more to get started with (teabags, teatowel). Also, when I first arrived, I was a bit surprised by the 'chalets', which aren't the attractive wooden houses we're used to, but single storey concrete bunkers. Still - the way they're laid out you can't see any of the neighbours, and once you're in you don't care what it looks like on the outside.

We have been to Kempervennen and Het Hedajbos (sp?) both in Holland. We loved Het H, definately the best CP we have been to. We have just come back from the new one in France - Le Lac d'Ailette and thought it was probably the worst one so far! We have been to 3 of the parcs in the UK, now thinking of checking out the final one - Longleat.Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

Thanks for the advice everyone. Interesting as we were thinking of trying the new french one but was put off by the prices for next year as they don't seem to offer discounts as the Dutch/ Belgium/German center parcs do. In relation to Longleat thats where we normally go in this country and we like it. They've also changed all the restaurants aorund in the last year or so which in my view in an improvement on the old ones.0 -
Anyone for anymore??0

We love Duinrell and are going there for the 5th time later this month - the photo is of one of their sets of slides in the waterpark.
You could also consider 2 other companies, the former of which is now owned by Canter Parcs and is getting a facelift:
