Ipod - do I need to use itunes??

Hi Everyone,
I have an ipod, and have always uploaded my music via CD or by purchasing thru itunes!!.. I am wanting to update my music collection dont want to pay almost 80p a song!. Is there a cheaper/legal music site I could use with my ipod ??
Any help would be appreciated.

You can use any site you want, download the songs to your computer and then just import them into iTunes.
Apparently there's supposed to be a DRM free monthly subscription service starting soon so wait and see what happens with that.0 -
As long as the site offers downloads in mp3 or mp4/aac formats without DRM, you'll be able to use it.0
