    not sure if this helps

    quote from bt

BT will require a wayleave (consent in
writing) to install, maintain, adjust, repair or
alter BT plant under or over the development
for the statutory purpose as defined in our
    Electronic Communications Code.

i find the above very interesting

BT will require a wayleave (consent in
writing) to install, maintain, adjust, repair or
alter BT plant under or over the development
for the statutory purpose as defined in our
    Electronic Communications Code.

does this mean if i have overhead wires crossing my property and theres no wayleave in place i can charge bt for the privilege of allowing my neighbours to use their telephones?
  • Help needed.
BT have just run an ugly phone overhead wire from a telegraph pole to the bungalow next door. It crosses quite close to my house and could make putting a ladder against the front of my house very difficult. Do they need any permission to do this? The wire was not there before. I protested and have written a letter asking for it to be removed.
  • It sounds like they have us all over a barrel on this. I have received a quote today for £670 to remove a BT line which is attached to my soffits (which I was having replaced next week... not now!), which serves next door and doesnt have a wayleave. All I have been told is to write back and complain. :-(
