Hi there, hope someone can help.
When I go on to ebay.co.uk, I get a window coming
up saying "enter network password" at the top.
Under this it says
"This secure website ( at dfp.doubleclick.net ) requires you to log on.
Please type the username and password that you use for DART"
If I press cancel it does go away, but comes back up every time I go
to the ebay homepage.
The only thing that I can think of that is causing it is I
watched a streaming football video at a site called Zippy videos.
I used ebay before this today and it worked fine. I haven't downloaded anything else as far as I know.
Is it an adware program maybe?
I'm running xp, and I've updated and scanned the pc, with Norton anti virus, lavasoft adaware and Microsoft anti spyware. I also have norton firewall running.
They are all saying that the pc is ok.
Can anyone please help????
Matthew

Did you run Adaware with system restore disabled, right click my computer icon
and choose properties then go to system restore tab, turn off sys restore
run a scan then re-enable sys restore..0 -

I'm getting the same pop up too
! Don't even know what username or password it's asking for.
Tried signing into ebay thru Firefox and Opera and neither of those browsers are asking for the pop-up sign in thing, so I'll be using Firefox until I know what the heck it's all about.
Same as Finn-this has only appeared today using IE6 everything up to date.0 -
I've managed to manually block it by going into IE tools/internet options/security/clicking the restricted sites icon/then down to click the "custom" button....and scrolling all the way to the last option User Authentication and ticking Anonymous Logon (it was set to "prompt for user/password).0

I would download http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html and run hijack
this as it could be a browser hijacker, but I think it could also be some
leased embdded java script on a site its self thats malfuntioning....
Run,, Do a System Scan and Save Log file then copy/paste the results to http://hjt.iamnotageek.com/ thats if the wbe site is working.0 -

Ignore it. It's a misconfigured ad by doubleclick. I got it on a GNU/Linux browser when I was there this morning.0 -
I had same thing yesterday, cured it more by accident than design!
Go to control panel/internet options/programs/manage add ons
There you'll find a list of add ons that have been installed in Internet
Explorer, I disabled all the dodgy looking ones and problem solved. :j
