I wonder if anyone reading this can advise me what to do to open an off-shore bank account? I am a UK tax exile living and working out of Bangkok.

You can easily open a bank account in Singapore or Hong Kong on your next visa run. I prefer Hong Kong banks as their banking law is based on UK law, while Singapore law tends to side with local interests. You also might want to investigate opening a HK limited company for tax shelter purposes. Off-shore trusts are another good tax shelter.
I would strongly recommend you consult a good accountant well versed in international tax issues or start doing your own research so you know the optimal tax minimization strategy for your particular situation."Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0 -
Could you recommend one of these accountants please?0

Sorry I can't. However the best way is to get an introduction from another farang that has used them or knows someone who has. Ask around your friends during the next drinking session...
Hope this helps!"Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0
