lo all ..
i have a cooperative bank cc that was linked to my NR mortgage from years ago ( i never cancelled it as it had a good interest rate ) my limit is 8000 , and i noticed that i am now going to be charged six pound a month just for the honor of having the card !!! i am also being charged 0.623 % per month , i have had enough now of this and was wondering if any one can recommend a cc to try for . Barclay's have just sent me a offer of a platinum card with 0% for 14 months , is this a good offer ?
thanks in advance
scott

I got a letter from barclaycard this morning offering me to apply for their card its 12 months for balance transfers and 3 months for purchases. if yours is 14 months then i,d say that was a good deal, Mint also do something along those lines / or better as well as Egg credit card.0

thanks for looking clio
it says on the front page
0% on balance transfers for 14 months (2.9% handling fee)
0% on purchases for 3 months
does it sound a good deal than what i am getting ?22864 quid and counting , but now proud to be dealing with it :j

What typical apr is this card is it 14.9% if so you may get that rate or even higher. here,s eggs offer and mints to compare. but by the looks of it the barclaycard is on par for BT,s but not for purchases so that doesn't really matter if your bt'ing a balance over as it,s not advised to spend on it once there is a balance transfer.. so if you feel like applying then go for it
Egg Card 0% till october 2009 [14 months] 3% fee apr 16.9% variable
Mint Card 0% till october 2009 [14 months] 2.9% fee apr 14.9% variable0 -
do you owe anything on your coop card? I assume so, but wanted to check. Either way, to pay any monthly charge (that's just for the sake of it) is totally pointless, there are loads of cards out there that don't charge anything (unless you owe on it of course)
0.623 PCM is really low APR for a credit card though, and I guess you'd have to do some sums as to whether 6£ a month is worth paying.
Here is a good list of cards for 0% balance transfers: http://www.stoozing.com/0fees.phpOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
yeah that's the only reason i kept the card as the interest was low , but its not that good any more with the 6 quid charge . i owe just short of 8000 on the card and can only tell you the interest i am charged every month as that's all the cc statement tells me .
so barclaycard is looking like a winner then >?22864 quid and counting , but now proud to be dealing with it :j
