SB - best broker for public liability & professional indemnity insurance

I need to get some quotes for both professional indemnity and public liability insurances for my new business (due to actually start trading in early September:eek: ). I want to know where I can go for quotes for these insurances.

Before anyone asks I do need these insurances because I am setting up as a wedding planner.

We have just moved our shop insurance (a florist) to a scheme that is operated by this broker:

    http://www.bridgeinsurance.co.uk/home.php

The deal was unbeatable. I know ours was a specific trade organisation deal, but they might be worth a go - very helpful & a good price.

    We use www.simplybusiness.co.uk

They were half the price of hiscox for us so worth a look!

Simply Business have just arranged for me to have £1m public liability and £100k professional indemnity cover with Finsbury Insurance Group for just over £100 p.a. This included a 10% discount they arranged over the phone.

A lot depends on the type of business but it would be worth contacting them to see what they can offer.

I am looking for insurance at the moment and wondered if you found Simply Insurance a good place to sign up with, they are cheaper than Hiscox

I actually went with Hiscox for both insurances - initially I took out public liability insurance with More Than because they sent me £50 of capital bond vouchers and then sent me a further £50 after messing me about so essentially my insurance cost me very little. Had carp service from them and switched to Hiscox where I had my professional indemnity insurance..Hiscox all the way for me.:D

Hoscox have a very very good reputation and consistantly come in the top 5% of surveys on claims and service
