House Price Checker!!! (free)

Don't pay for the priviledge of knowing what price you neighbour's house sold for. I used a site similar last year which gave me credits initially, then charged for the information but this site I believe is totally free.

Sorry not sure how to use the short links etc...

  • This site is very out of date. I just entered my own postcode into it and was alarmed to see an average price of £88,000. However, having looking into this more deeply, I found that the prices are based on 2001 prices and, indeed, my own property is included in the calculations from August, 2001.

MY recent puchase is included in this site (just checked) and I bought in Sept '05. So it appears to be up to date.

these sites are a curates egg. good for neighbours, but the figures are not 100% accurate. for example, some properties are listed as semi detached when they are flats. again, they dont reflect the amount of work a property requires nor related transactions (between family members or friends), or where no cash elements in a sale are involved.
