well I have tried to ring Tiscali my internet provider about this, and the bloke on the end of the phone didn't speak very good english and couldn't understand what I was trying to say and kept trying to ask me if I wanted to switch to them for my phone calls instead. Err...NO!! So I rang BT and I got the same problem!!
I am with BT for phone, tiscali for internet. I don't use my phone very often. If I get it swtched to incoming calls only, can I still use my wireless broadband?
Please someone help me!!

Your phone service and broadband service are totally separate, apart from sharing the same physical line. If you want to bar outgoing calls on BT, you need to pay for that feature:Call Barring lets you decide which types of calls can be made from your phone so you're in control of who uses it and how. To make calls to any of the barred numbers, you'll need to enter a PIN number first.
Call Barring is available as part of a Calling Features Pack – see pricing details at the top of this page.

Reading the title of the OP's OP makes me think that he won't be able to establish a broadband connection, because this (presumably!) requires him to be able to dial out to set this up.
Or am I missing something quite fundamental about ADSL?0 -

You don't dial out to connect to broadband, so it makes no difference. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
It says in the light user T&C that you can't have BB on it. Presumably to stop you getting reduced price line rental and just using voip. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0
