moving ISP ( migration ) whislt there is a problem at the exchange

hi there

my friend has his broadband with toucan, there as been a problem ( he can not get online) at the exchange for 5 week and is still not sorted.

He wants to get is mac code and move provider, but wont the problem still be there if he moves provider before it is sorted ? , many thanks

it would depend on the problem

i suggest he calls his current provider and find out whats going on 5 weeks downtime in an exchange is just silly

And make sure he isn't being charged for that month, since otherwise he's been paying them for nothing!
If there is really a problem at the exchange, there's a good chance it would affect most adsl providers in the area. But as d900 says, nothing should take 5 weeks to fix.

That sounds about right for a Tiscali company!

Depends if it on LLU. Check here to see exactly what is available on your excahnge.
