Stop the madness!

Please, I beg of you! Please could you stop the Chat Forum link automatically opening into a new window, it's so annyoign I've gone back to bookmarking the forums!

I don't see why this has been done, as you can only ever look at thing at the same time!

Users have the option of right-clicking on the Chat Forum and opening on the new window but not the other way around.

Please, I beg of you!

I think its so we don't lose sight of the Main site - after all that is what MSE is all about.

I use Firefox, and have put a link to the chat forum at the top where my RSS feed used to be!

I'm more likely to loose sight of the main site now than before though... inf act that may be the reason I bookmarked the forum in the first place.

If I open the main site, I see the latest articles, I then read them, then I click on the forums to via the latests of the latest news (sorry Martin, 61,000 versus 1 Martin!), and I'm not incovenince by that window.

If I bookmark the forum I see the latest info, but none of Martin's info. At the end of the day, I'm more likely to see the main site if the forum link opened in the same window.

There is a blue bar along the top of each board which gives the relevant articles to each particular board.

Down the side there is now a black bar which takes you to the various articles.

On the beige bar there is a link to the Main Site, so plenty of methods of getting to the main site if you set the bookmark as the Chat Forum.

I see no issue, I'm happy with it. Please explain why it is a problem.

It uneccesarily loads up another window - irrelevent if you have better software, it's not good usability practice.

As edinburghlass has pointed out there are plent of ways to get back to the main site from when you are on the forums.

This is where you ahve the choice, you can right click and open in New Window

People who don't want a new window, don't!
