Yes you can leave on the day of the end of your tenancy - you need to give notice 2 months prior to this so Oct.
You need to STOP spending money on food - ok you need food but you are digging a serious hole here! Organic food is nice, but you are getting into more debt each month! £8 for lunch... You what??? I go to London for work fairly often and I can't even spend that if I buy M&S sarnies, drink and treat!!! STOP! Take a packed lunch!
You do need to resolve this mouse problem however - it's unsanitory... I would contcat CAB or someone about the legal aspect of this - I don't suppose you put your original complaint about the mice in writing?
Get yourself organised and find someone to flat share with you - make sure they know it's a short term rolling agreement - ie they might only be there 1 or 2 months OR they might be there till Dec...
Get settlement figure on your TV... Paying £100 instead of £50 - good... but of what remaining debt!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
Andrew thanks for posting your SOA.
Your grocery bill is way too high for one person. Look on Moneysaving Oldstyle for tips on meal planning etc.
Shop in places like Lidl where you can buy good food cheaply. As others have said take a packed lunch to work each day rather than spending £8 on lunch. If you have a window box or a pot on window sill you can grow your own salad leaves cheaply. I live on my own as does my chap (he lives in Kennington by the Oval) and both of us live on £80 a month max. I live quite well and buy my meat at a local butcher (look for one with a long queue outside as this is the sign of a good one), veg I may buy in Lidl or as I am close to the countryside from a farm or local greengrocer. Everything else comes from Lidl.
As your mouse investation is so bad, speak to your environmental health department - say that the mice are making you ill and then tell your landlord that they have been out, give the environmental health people the name of your landlord whilst you are at it as they will most likely want to speak to her.
Hope this helps and good luck.0 -
OKay - The tenancy ; as a tenant (as opposed to Landlord) you can serve one month notice; the two months is for the Landlord. I am surprised that it is a 1 year tenancy; AST should be 6 months. Get proper advice on this - I have to say the CAB are usually Carp on this point and advise on the basis of the agreement and not the law.0

Better to start your own thread e.g. "My SOA" or "Carmex Fan's SOA" - then you know that all the replies relate to your situation and not anyone else's.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
