hi
can somebody tell me what I need to do? I brought a printer off ebay
tuesday arrived today took it out of box (it had been well wrapped)
and its covered in ink. Rang the company and the guy was nasty told
me I could send it back for refund but would not refund postage so I will
be £15 out of pocket. Told him I will post bad review and he said I would
look stupid and then put the phone down.
Received two emails from him and I will copy the second one
We only have your word and will issue a refund once we have checked the machine is
a, the one we sent you,
b, faulty in the way you describe.
He is now implying I am lying I have contacted pay pal does anybody
know what I do? I can't test the printer since the socket is full of ink.
please help
thought I had a bargain ! well £42 and I don't see why I should be out of
pocket if he had took the cartridges out this would'nt have happened

How did you fund your paypal payment?0

This is inexcusable. I am always charming to my buyers and have had two complaints recently from France (eeek...costs of return postage etc) have reassured both that they can send the items back and I will either refund or replace in both cases items have never been returned. In both cases they were minor faults that do not affect the operation of the item. So it pays to be nice.
first thing to check; is he a regular/current seller? This makes life easier. Now that he has been nasty I would get in touch with PayPal and start an item not as described dispute. You have given him the chance to sort it out and he has fallen at the first hurdle. Leave a negative feedback that is clear and concise immediately, you can then follow it up later when you win your case. Unfortunately you will still have to send off the printer and that will cost you.0 -
If you paid for it by PayPal using the Paypal button in eBay you will be covered but as long as the item was not sold as decribed. e.g. if he said it was new but it wasn't.
See https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_pbp-info-outside.
I think negative feedback is a valid option in this case, if he is a high seller, it really will look bad and you won't look stupid. BTW, he mentions, "we only have your word", well, who else's word does he normally get? The lady that lvies down the road from him?0 -
thanks for the help have posted feed back and he now states I am being
unreasonable, somebody asked about how I paid well I used my debit card
via pay pal. I have contacted them and thought about getting intouch
with my bank. I just can't believe he could imply I am lying about the printer0 -
