Help - decorating walls

Hi,
I have to decorate our lounge which has had a rewire so the wall chases have been replastered and are fairly flat.
The chase surfaces feel smooth unlike the rest of the walls.
The existing colour is magnolia and we would like to paint it all white.
Can I decorate without having to stick lining paper?
Thanks

hi marcom. by the sounds of it i think you will have to line the wall, unless you can spend alot of time with good fillers and plenty of sandpaper you want it to look good after all your hard work, so take your time do the best job that you can do.0

You could get the walls skimmed with finishing plaster. This will give it a lovely smooth finish to paint on. See my topic: Reskimming old walls - MoneySavingExpert.com Forums0
