Never switched before.
British Gas Standard Tariff
Southern Electric Standard Tariff.
The non fixed/caped tariffs are coming out with a £1000 saving - is this right?...! Can some clever person work out what I should go to?..
Just heard about the Centrica profits. No way am I helping them swell there profits again.

Okay, the "Centrica profits" thing has kind of been blown up out of all proportion. British Gas is owned by Centrica, and BG makes around 20-25p out of every £1 due to buying and transportation costs. Then, things like magnetic cards, and reinvestment come out of the 20-25p. Methinks. There's a 3 or 4% operating margin, which is less than Tescos, to put it in proportion. It seems like a lot of money due to the sheer size of BG. Centrica also own a lot of other energy companies abroad, like in America, so that's why their profits seem so big.
£1000 saving to go for the Southern Electric standard tariff? Wow. Impressive. Remember they haven't upped their prices yet, but most likely will... Even still, for me to give you any info I'll need to know roughly how much you consume in a year.0 -
Assuming 45000Kwh of Gas and 11000Kwh of Electricity if your figures above are correct then moneysupermarket is suggesting that Npower Sign Online 12 - Standard (Direct Debit) is the one to go for with a saving of £538 a year on your current spend (approx £2033).0

Ah I put it in the Title, but this may help.
I added my 4x Gas bills, added & rounded to 4000 units. Kwh added & rounded to 45000.
Looking back at my 4x Electricity bills, it is based on units rounded to 11000.
There are no Kwh conversions etc on the bill, looks as though Gas & electricity is calculated differently, Units higher than gas & no KWH.0 -
