I'm in the energy switch 'no man's land' and i want to cap

I switched supplier's a week before news broke of the energy increase. Ive not heard from either supplier when the transfer will take place. I'd like to cap but as my transfer is not yet live i'm stuck in situation and risk the cap deals being withdrawn by the time i'm registered with a new supplier. Oh dear i'm confuzzled can anyone help pleeeeease?
