The other thing I am aware of is that this week I have been to the cash machine more times than I had done in the previous month.....must get out of that habit - I have signed up for the Sept NSD challenge and hope to do ok there - tomorrow can't be a NSD as I have to take kitties to the vets, but hopefully Tuesday will be the first of many NSDs....

Dr Dragon and I got into the habit of going to the cash point only once and week and making the cash LAST! Where do I sign up for the NSD challenge?

The NSD challenge is not too far away - it has a poll attached so shouldn't be difficult to spot this month. It started in July, where I failed miserably, apart from the fact that it highlighted how much I spend unnecessarily.

In August I did much better, and it certainly helped me feel in control of the money.

This last week though, with getting things ready for back to school, and failing to do a big supermarket shop, so having done lots of smaller trips to the local shop, it has not been so good. But the good thing is that I have recognised it and am firmly back in control now.....

A matched bet cleared today - £6.61 profit -not much, but still £6.61 I didn't have earlier today.

......and I must be up to at least £1.20 on STP :T :rotfl:

I know what you mean about cash I am a nightmare at the end of the month when I am trying to make things last and not do a big shop.

Have signed up for the NSD challenge for September too and I am aiming for 12.

I keep toying with the match betting but I can not get my head round it and I thought I was fairly intelligent lol

I think the whole cash machine problem and the ease of paying by debit card is a big issue - the only way round it will be to leave all cards at home. I may try this approach for the next week at work and see how it works.......

Hi Hypno and all..yes you do deserve to be debt free as you really work at it.Leaving all cards at home has worked for a lot of people so well worth a try and good luck with STP.Glad your student is nice as well.

    Hi Hypno

I was really wondering earlier today about doing a mystery shop that would "only" have netted me £2.70 after transport costs - after reading how you're working on slice the pie at the moment, I'm very glad I decided to take it, and use it as a free way to get a walk in the country in a different area. Thats one way that you're an inspiration - you pay as much attention to the odd 5p earned as you do to that L&G ISA, for instance - so, thank you!

I got up to £2.20 on STP before I had to take the children skiing. Don't really feel as though I want to log back in and carry on this evening though. Vernons has tracked on quidco so that looks good.

Now cooking a late dinner - spag bol, then an early night all round I think!

Hope you have all had a good day x
