I got my RAC cover (full) through Tesco clubcard but now I've broken down and called them out they can't come for 3 1/2 hours surely that can't be right can it???

I've walked home now as I can't wait in the road for 3 and a half hours.

It says on the website around 40 mins!!!

Anyone know the rules how it works?

Thanks

It entirely depends on their resources at the time you call.Forty minutes is an average. I have known them on more then one occassion arrive quicker, patrols were nearby. If all their patrols are tied up their is little they can do about it.

I seem to remember hearing RAC contract their jobs out at on occassion?

That said the AA from experiance arent much better, the diff went in my car and i phoned telling them i needed a tow. They sent a van who came after an hour. He took one look and said "it needs towing" another hour wait for the flat bed.

    Hi,

When I broke down recently on the A1 the RAC were with me in just under seven minutes, so I suppose it just depends on how busy they are and where their nearest patrol is etc.

I chatted to the patrolman as he towed my car to the dealer and he said it can be just luck of the draw at times as to where you are etc but if things start to stack up there are garages they can call on to assist them as well.

Pleased they got you sorted out.

    Pete
