Click 5 no rise yet

email from british gas

When you took out Click Energy 5 you made a great decision – you're benefiting from our cheapest available online dual-fuel tariff*, and because we've only just introduced this market-beating tariff we're going to hold off any price increases for as long as we can. There's no need to do anything, we'll contact you to let you know your new prices should they change.

Yes i got that too,but i have just capped last night with e-on, will be costing me £350 more a year than click 5 at the moment, that is about 26% but at least I feel safe.

I had tried to get BG before the price rise was announced to see if I could arrange someting with them, I am hoping they come back to me with an offer prior to the end of the 7 day cancellation cooling off period, maybe they will come up trumps!

Did they send this to you as an existing customer?

    I don't understand?

I switched to click energy 5 on sat after EDF hiked the prices. I have tomorrow to cancel but can't make a proper decision as click five hasn't gone up yet!

You will probably find BGas always delay raising Click Energy rates by a few months. Probably go up in October I reckon as last rise was in May.

I imagine that they'll just delay the rise in Click 5 to retain customers until the panic has died down, then raise it. The email appears to allude to this strategy.

I'm on Click Energy 4 and haven't received any emails so am I affected by the price changes? I did query about a year ago with BG whether CE5 would be any better and tbh the difference was minimal so I stayed on CE4.

I got this email from them tonight on click 5 but I just registered on the essentials package from vulnerable customers

Good news – your prices haven’t increased.

Which haven't been affected by the latest price increases. World oil and gas prices have been reaching record highs – this is an issue facing all energy suppliers. This means the cost of energy has been going up and will probably continue to rise. In fact, in the last six months wholesale energy prices have increased by more than 60%.

    Hi

I'm with Scottish hydro electric- having never switched before- and I'm considering switching to Click 5. Does anyone know if there is any tie in period or penalty should I decide I want to then move from Click 5 and cap later in the year ?
    Thanks

itzmee, Click Energy 1-4 tariffs increased on Wednesday, CE5 is the only one not yet to increase. The new prices for CE1-4 can be found at http://www.britishgas.co.uk/products-and-services/energy/click-energy-prices.html

cb101, the T&C for CE5 make no mention of minimum term or penalty charges, and that was the same for the T&C on my CE4 agreement. The only real worry imo would be whether a good capped tariff would be available when CE5 increases.
