Applying for Egg Money - Credit search

If you apply for an Egg money card when you are an existing green card holder, do they do a credit search?

    From the Egg FAQ section...

    "What checks do you make when I apply for an account?
    a) We check our own records for information on: i. Your personal accounts; ii. and, if you have one, your spouse/(personal) partner's* personal accounts;

    b) We search at credit reference agencies for information..."

  • Nope...

    I opened an Egg Savings & a Egg Money Manager account and they did a Money Laundering ID Check (ie, a Generic Identification Check) and that was it.

    It seems to a good product so far!

    That's because they are not applications for credit.

    Mine was about 1/5th of my green card. It's dependent upon many factors.

    I think Egg money has a limit of something like 2x your monthly income as a cap, although it is probably reduced if you have lots of credit elsewhere.

    I guess if you need more for monthly purchases to maximise your cashback you could ask them to move limit from your green card?

    R.
    Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
