adobe reader causing problems ....

on a dell desktop.. with XP .. and using aol ,,, and adobe 8

just started having problems printing adobe docs ... when i click to print .. they don't .. my printer icon flashes up saying there's a problem .. and the mouse pointer freezes .. so i have no choice but to turn off computer .

On restarting .. anorther few minutes later i'll sometimes get a blank page suddenly printing.

Thought i'd try re--installing adobe to discover there;'s a version 9 .. downloaded it .. and exactly the same is happening.

any ideas ??

Dell - XP - Adobe 8 - all OK.
Not sure about AOL.

I have no hassle with Adobe. I still print some pdf documents copied to an old W95 PC with Adobe 5 installed that I have previously saved in Adobe 8. I sometimes get a warning that they may not print correctly , but they always do!

I don't have an answer to your problem, but have you tried saving a copy of the pdf document and then printing the saved file? Could be worth a try.

interestiing .. installed Foxit and tried again ... no mouse pointer freezing ....

but same as adobe .. doesn't want to print . .. hp laserjet 1200 printer .. printer log just says "error printing" ..

So can you print from other packages?
