Office 2007 on Vista problems

Have been running office 2007 on a new laptop installed with Vista (not my first choice) for about 3 months but all of a sudden I am getting permanent error messages every single time I close any office program.
When I close, the error message reads 'Microsoft word/excell etc has stopped working properly" and needs to close - then, if its word, another message pops up saying 'document can't be opened' despite me wanting to close it.
It's drving me insane!
Any suggestions?

Put the Office CD in the computer and it should let you do a repair installation. Once that's done check for updates on the microsoft website.0
