The ones made by Philips work well but they do come with different expected life e.g. 6, 8 or 12 years use. Morrisons often have them very cheap. They generally consume less than 20% of the electricity when compared to a standard filament bulb. e.g. 18W equivalent to 100W.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

When you buy them, most of them have a guarantee for so many years. Write the date of installation in a marker pen somewhere on the bulb so that if it doesn't last as long as they promised, you can apply for a refund. (Provided you kept the receipt of course !!)0
